Pjotr Tyimofejevics Sztronszkij: The benevolent angel of Peace
At the end of the harbours pier, a gold-plated angel statue, the “Angel of Peace” stands and looks to the North Coast. It was gifted to the town on the occasion of the VI. World Congress of the Finno-Ugric Peoples, in 2012. The statue was made by the russian sculptor Pjotr Tyimofejevics Sztronszkij (Стронский Петр Тимофеевич). The approximately 10-meter-high art piece is the international symbol of peace, friendship and unity.
